Type Approval License
The Type Approval License ensures that telecommunications and radio equipment used or sold in Somalia meets national technical standards and regulatory requirements. Type approval protects consumers, guarantees network safety, and prevents interference with other radio services. All telecommunications equipment—such as mobile phones, routers, transmitters, and other devices—must be tested and certified before importation, sale, or operation within Somalia.
To streamline the process, the National Communications Authority (NCA) has established the Type Approval Management System, an online platform where applicants can submit, track, and manage their type approval applications quickly and efficiently.
