Maritime Spectrum License
The Maritime Spectrum License authorizes the use of specific radio frequency bands for maritime communication systems, including ship-to-ship, ship-to-shore, and navigation communications within Somalia’s territorial waters. This spectrum allocation ensures safe and efficient maritime operations, supporting vessel tracking, distress calls, port communications, and maritime safety services.
This license is critical for enhancing the security and efficiency of Somalia’s maritime sector and protecting lives and property at sea.
Eligibility
This authorization is available to shipping companies, maritime service providers, port authorities, and
other entities engaged in maritime operations in Somalia.

To apply for the Maritime Spectrum License, please prepare and submit the following documents:

  • Valid Business License from the Ministry of Commerce
  • Valid Ministry of Ports and Marine Transport
  • Valid License from the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy

  • Completed Application Form
